The crew on board HMS Trent will now be able to relax in comfort, thanks to a donation from La-Z-Boy.
La-Z-Boy UK has donated four pedestal chairs to the Royal Navy to be used on HMS Trent, an offshore patrol vessel currently based in Gibraltar for operations in the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Guinea. The furniture donation will make the ship’s mess area seem more like home for those stationed on board.
Adam Morley, head of marketing at La-Z-Boy UK, said: “At La-Z-Boy, we are proud to be able to support those serving their country in the Royal Navy. We appreciate how hard the crew of HMS Trent work and we hope the chairs we have donated will help them to relax in the utmost comfort when they are not on duty.”
HMS Trent is 90 metres long and 13 metres wide and has been deployed to the Mediterranean to support NATO with international security. It has also been designed to carry out a number of missions including border patrol, counter-piracy, counter terrorism, fishery protection, delivering humanitarian aid, search and rescue, defence diplomacy and general patrols.
The vessel is the third of five second generation River class ships which will be stationed around the globe protecting UK interests.
This is not the first time La-Z-Boy UK has made a donation to the Royal Navy. We have previously given four recliner armchairs to HMS Forth – another offshore patrol vessel similar to HMS Trent. That ship patrols the Falkland Islands, protecting British interests at sea.
