Sweetie the cat is now the proud owner of a La-Z-Cat chair after being voted the winner of the Crown the Laziest Cat competition. This cat-sized recliner is a limited edition product made by La-Z-Boy pet bed licensee Petmate.
Sweetie’s owner, Annika Storey, from Dudley, West Midlands, entered the contest by posting a photo of her cat enjoying a lazy moment on Facebook. People were asked to share a snap of their cats stretched out in style, curled up looking cute or laid back and relaxed with the hashtag #crowntheLaZCat
The Crown the Laziest Cat competition was open across both Facebook and Instagram to celebrate the release of The Garfield Movie in cinemas. A shortlist of entries was selected and the winning image was the one which received the most likes on social media.
As well as giving away the pet-sized La-Z-Cat chair, La-Z-Boy UK also gave away a bespoke Garfield-themed recliner in another competition.
