La-Z-Boy UK has joined forces with world-famous feline Garfield in a purr-fect collaboration.
We will be replacing our iconic logo with a La-Z-Cat moniker until the end of June to celebrate the release of Columbia Pictures/Alcon Entertainment’s The Garfield Movie. Garfield has his very own much-loved recliner chair in the movie which makes the collaboration a natural fit with La-Z-Boy.
Everyone’s favourite Monday-hating cat will be making his presence known on our website and social media accounts and we’ll be running a series of competitions linked to the film. This will start with a contest to crown the World’s Laziest Cat.
If you’re the proud owner of your own lazy cat, you could win a special recliner for them to relax on.Pet owners are being asked to share pictures of their felines enjoying a lazy moment with the hashtag #crowntheLaZCat for their chance to get their hands on a miniature cat-sized La-Z-Boy.
These limited edition pet beds have been created by La-Z-Boy licensee Petmate, so your cat can sit back and relax just like Garfield.
To celebrate the collaboration, we have created an exclusive Garfield-themed recliner, which will be doing a tour of UK cinemas. The roadshow will give cinema-goers the opportunity to win a £3,000 prize package of La-Z-Boy products by scanning a QR code and entering a prize draw.
The competition will also be open to visitors to the La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery in the Bentall Centre in Kingston–upon- Thames.
In addition to this, those visiting the roadshow can be in with the chance of taking home their very own La-Z-Cat Garfield chair. Anyone who snaps a selfie in the feline-themed recliner and shares the image on social media with the hashtag #lazcat will be entered into the competition.
The Garfield roadshow will be in Showcase Cinemas in Southampton on May 18 and 19, Derby on May 25 and 26 and at Bluewater on June 1 and 2. Come along to see the Garfield recliner for yourself and enter our competitions.
