Three lucky people will be adding some La-Z-Boy comfort to their home in time for Christmas after winning competitions at American football games.
La-Z-Boy UK is the official furniture partner of the NFL London Games and had created a VIP area known as Best Seats in the House featuring luxurious La-Z-Boy recliners at the three fixtures. Winners from online competitions held earlier in the year were able to sit back, relax and watch the game from a La-Z-Boy armchair.
And those elsewhere in the stadium were also given the chance to experience La-Z-Boy comfort for themselves. During each of the three NFL games, a QR code was displayed on the game’s jumbotron – the large screen fans can watch before, during and after the action – allowing spectators to enter a prize draw.
A winner was chosen from the entries collected at each game and they were able to choose a furniture prize package worth £3,000. A dedicated personal shopper helped each winner pick the products they wanted from the La-Z-Boy UK ranges and they were then delivered straight to their door.
Gemma Haggis, from Basingstoke, scooped the prize after attending the first of the NFL London Games on Sunday, October 1 at Wembley Stadium. The match saw Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-7.
In the second game, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Dan Fella was named the winner after the crowds watched Jacksonville Jaguar win again on British soil when they beat the Buffalo Bills 25-20 on Sunday, October 8. And the third winner – Robert Rhodes, from Hackney, was chosen from entries collected as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-16 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 15.
Personalised chairs given to NFL stars
The NFL London Games was also the ideal opportunity to present personalised La-Z-Boy UK recliners to former NFL players Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora. The hosts of the popular Jason & Osi podcast were given their own custom-made Spectator chairs, featuring their names, shirt numbers and signatures.
Osi is a two-times Super Bowl champion who played for the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons. Jason Bell, who was the guest of honour at La-Z-Boy UK’s stand at the January Furniture Show earlier this year, played for the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans before playing alongside Osi for the New York Giants.
As well as their podcast, the pair have appeared on both the BBC and ITV’s coverage of NFL games as presenters and pundits.
