We’re delighted to announce that we have introduced eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging on the majority of all our sofas and chairs.
La-Z-Boy UK is the first brand in the country to have adopted this revolutionary, 100% recycled and fully recyclable product, which features a woven, quilted protective bag and outer carton to minimise damage in transit.
The packaging has been rigorously tested over 12 months to thoroughly eliminate scuff, scratch and crush issues which can often be problematic in the transport of upholstered sofas. It is in use in all products being shipped from our factories in Asia, including our brand new Urban Attitudes collection (Lisbon is pictured).
Our quality manager, Pete McDonald, explained some of the advantages of the new packaging.
“Our eco-friendly packaging has multiple environmental benefits, such as no plastic, no polyurethane, and no restricted chemicals, while helping to reduce our overall carbon footprint,” he said.
“We’re really proud to be the first brand in the industry to have adopted this innovative approach, which is now in use on the majority of our products. It’s important for a world renowned brand to take its environmental considerations seriously, and our next focus is to work on reducing plastic on our European made products.”
